Sharon R. Cole

Sharon R. Cole is a Philadelphia-based freelance writer who has written for various media and industries, including the legal field. Some of her work has appeared in the University of Florida Law Alumni magazine (UFLAW) for which she interviewed many prominent lawyers practicing in the Florida and Washington D.C. areas.

Among those works is D.C. Power: From the White House to the World Bank—a compilation of bios featuring University of Florida alumni who rose to mover-and-shaker status in the nation’s District. Paul G. Rogers, otherwise known as Mr. Health, is included among Cole’s interviews. Rogers was instrumental in passing the Clean Air Act, and the National Cancer Act.

Cole also wrote Woman of Firsts — a feature highlighting Sylvia Walbolt, a female pioneer who earned her JD in 1963. Walbolt was named among the top 10 litigators in the nation.

Because of her strong interest in the legal profession, Cole has served for four years on the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Youth Aid Panel—a panel offering first-time juvenile offenders a second chance at life. She also possesses a strong interest in children of divorce and family law, is an affiliate of the Center for Contemporary Families (CCF) and is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA). Cole has also taken the LSAT and aspires to become more involved in the field of law.
